Description
There are few drinks that can beat a tequila margarita – so enjoy my spin on a classic with the additions of chili and lime, and use the best Blanco tequila you can get your hands on. Also try switching it up with Mezcal for a refreshing twist! View the video here.
Ingredients
Units
- 1 Tbsp Tajin, or chilli salt
- 60ml Blanco tequila (also called plato or silver tequila)
- 15ml Cointreau (you may also use other orange liqueurs such as triple sec or Grand Marnier)
- 1 lime (30ml lime juice and wedge for preparing the glass)
- 15ml sugar syrup
- 1/2 chilli
Instructions
- Use a wedge of lime along the rim of the glass, rub it in tajin or chilli salt and set aside
- Add tequila, half the chilli, orange liqueur, lime juice, and sugar syrup to a container filled with ice, and shake well until well chilled
- Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice, add a few slices of chill for garnish
