Description

Inspired by the ultimate no-recipe-potato-recipe by Sam Sifton of NYT Cooking, these moreish air fryer smashed potatoes are decadently hearty and can be served with any toppings you fancy.

Ingredients

  • potatoes, one per person
  • toppings (I used mozzarella, bacon and kale)
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 190 degrees C, on the bake or air fry setting. Toss the potatoes with olive oil and generously season with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the potatoes into the air fryer and roast until soft, flipping halfway.
  3. Smash the potatoes with a coffee cup or any other similarly-sized, heavy object you have handy.
  4. Place the potatoes back into the air fryer topped with your favourite toppings. I used crispy bacon, mozzarella and kale. Cook the potatoes until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Enjoy!
