Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this alcohol-free?

To make this cocktail into a mocktail, simply leave out the Leonista Reposado Black and top up with more espresso.

I don’t have a cocktail shaker, now what?

There’s no need for a fancy cocktail shaker to enjoy this recipe. Use a mason jar with a lid or a plastic drink shaker.

Description

A gorgeously smooth coffee mezcaltini; this is the perfect cocktail for lazy afternoons and evenings, as well as cocktail parties. Enjoy topped with  crunchy coffee beans!

Ingredients

  • 90ml Leonista Reposado Black
  • 2 shots Strong Espresso (60-70ml)
  • sugar to taste (add to preference)
  • pinch of salt
  • coffee beans, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your espresso, then sweeten it to your preference with sugar. We advise making it slightly sweeter than you usually prefer.
  2. Once sweetened to your liking add a small pinch of salt to your coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature or pop it in the freezer for 5mins.
  3. Place your serving glasses in the freezer
  4. Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add your espresso and Leonista. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds, then strain into two martini glasses.
  5. Garnish with coffee beans, if using, and serve.

Notes

*If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, use a large glass jar with a tight lid, or a plastic drink shaker!
