Description
These birthday cake pancakes are everything you could ever wish for in a breakfast dish – soft, fluffy, and stacked high with festive sprinkles. Best of all, they’re incredibly easy to make and can be stacked in just six simple steps.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups cake/AP flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp white sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 Tbsp butter, melted
- 3 Tbsp sprinkles
- 1 Tsp vanilla
To finish
- Whipped cream
- Sprinkles
- Candles/sparkler
Instructions
- Mix the milk and vinegar together. Allow the vinegar to curdle the milk.
- Sift the flour into a bowl, then add the baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix together.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients, then add the milk mix, melted butter, vanilla and egg. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the sprinkles.
- Ladle into a buttered pan on medium heat, and cook until bubbles form on the surface and the pancake is golden on the bottom
Chefs tip: use an egg ring, or metal biscuits cutter to cook your pancakes into perfectly even circles.
Flip and finish cooking on the other side. Repeat until the batter is finished - Stack up with cream and sprinkles. Finish with a candle or sparkler.
