Air Fryer Feta with Sesame, Honey & Figs

Mouthwateringly creamy, crispy, salty and sweet, this air fryer feta is crusted with sesame seeds, drizzled with honey and served with figs.

Sesame Feta

This deliciously salty-sweet appetiser draws on a similar crispy traditional Greek fried feta dish. The combination of sesame, feta and honey is truly delicious and satisfying. This flavoursome dish is also healthier than you would expect – made in the air fryer, you’ll be avoiding the fat and fuss of deep frying, and cooking time is a cinch.

This recipe is a great quick and easy way to transform a humble block of feta. Firstly cut the cubes of feta into bite-sized pieces. Triangles were, undoubtedly, our first choice here as they add height and sophistication to the plating. Next, panne the feta in flour, egg and sesame, before air frying to golden, crisp, perfection.

Serve this yummy dish at parties, or simply as a quick and satisfying snack. The combination of honey, feta and sesame is moreish, creamy and melty.

With only 5 basic ingredients and coming together in only 20 minutes, this sesame feta dish is quick, delicious and makes for a wonderful snack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this gluten-free?

Absolutely. Use your favourite gluten-free flour, or rice, corn or potato starch.

Can I make this vegan?

Feel free to try using a block of marinated tofu instead of feta in this dish, for a vegan treat. Pat the vegan tofu feta dry before proceeding.  You can substitute the honey with agave or date syrup, to keep the salty/sweet flavours going and use an egg replacer or vegan mayonnaise thinned with water for the egg component.
