Raspberry Rose Smash
Rosewater pairs perfectly with Leonista Blanco, berries and lime in my Raspberry Rose Smash. Delicious!
Let’s end on a high with one of my favorite flavor flavorings of all time, rose water. (Sorry vanilla, we still tight). Rose water is a great pantry staple, and pairs well with anything with sweetness and acidity. (Think citrus fruits and berries). When tasked with creating a cocktail with Happy Culture’s new Raspberry Hibiscus flavor I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
A variation of this recipe has been in my gin cocktail rotation for several years. A squeeze of lime, muddled berries (usually whatever I have at hand), possibly some sugar, topped with gin and rose cucumber tonic and suddenly you feel like the true domestic goddess herself, Ina Garten. How easy is that?
In my latest iteration the rose water plays well with Leonista Blanco. Round that off with a touch of raspberry and lime and you have the perfect cocktail for Christmas Day… or any other day.
The weather is looking extra peachy in Cape Town today and this drink screams summer, so let that inner chef shine and let a couple of these brighten up your Friday.
So you’re keen to try more rosewater recipes? This one is another firm favorite.

The mezcal can be swapped for an alcohol free spirit, like Seedlip, or left out entirely.
